ABOUT THE CLEAR CURRENT PROGRAM

The Clear Current Program is Shore & Stream’s partner pathway for turning recyclable scrap into documented environmental action. Shore & Stream operates as a Public Benefit Corporation, meaning our business is legally structured to pursue environmental and social good alongside financial sustainability. We work with businesses that generate recyclable materials and want a responsible outlet that also produces measurable impact they can stand behind.

The program follows a clear and accountable process. Recyclable scrap is collected from partner businesses and directed through responsible recycling channels. Each step is tracked so the connection between materials, recycling outcomes, and environmental benefit remains transparent and traceable.

Clear Current is designed for businesses where recyclable scrap is a normal byproduct of operations. Construction trades, electrical and telecom work, HVAC, auto body, manufacturing, and facilities maintenance are common fits. If scrap metal or wire is part of your workflow, the program is likely a practical match.

We focus on materials with established recycling value such as copper, brass, insulated wire, and aluminum. Keeping materials reasonably clean and separated helps preserve their value and environmental benefit. When questions come up, we review them together so expectations stay clear on both sides.

Participation is coordinated around pickups that make logistical sense for both sides, with the goal of fitting into your existing workflow without creating extra burden.

Shore & Stream does not request cash donations or participation fees, and we do not purchase scrap. The recyclable materials themselves fund operations and environmental projects, keeping the model practical and transparent.

Impact reporting is a core part of Shore & Stream. Partners receive straightforward quarterly summaries showing material diversion and how participation supported environmental efforts. We also document cleanup projects through photos and video, and share this media online so partners can see real outcomes in action.

Many cleanup efforts are organized as sponsored projects funded through the program. Partners are informed about upcoming environmental projects and are always welcome to attend or observe. Participation is completely voluntary, but the invitation is always open.

The program is not a junk removal or general trash service and is not intended for low-value or heavy bulk metals that are inefficient to transport. The focus remains on recyclable scrap that can be handled responsibly and translated into measurable environmental benefit.

At its core, the Clear Current Program gives businesses a practical way to keep valuable recyclables out of landfills, simplify responsible scrap handling, and support real environmental work in their communities.
